Number Thirteen…
Friend or Foe?
The number thirteen carries diverse meanings, most notably representing bad luck in Western culture due to its association with the Last Supper and Norse mythology.
In other contexts, it can symbolise femininity, lunar cycles, transformation, rebellion, and renewal.
In numerology and ancient traditions, it signifies breaking old patterns for new beginnings and can also represent the enduring power of nature, linked to the thirteen moons of the year and fertility.
Conclusion.
I don’t have one. Hope this helps 👍.
The Poem.
They say it’s unlucky for some,
it’s way more than that for me.
Number thirteen is my nemesis,
waits in the shadows to pounce.
~
Follows me around like a stalker,
it’s there wherever I may roam.
Whenever I look at my watch,
thirteen is staring right back.
~
It knows that whenever I see it,
I have to stay still until it’s gone.
This can be particularly difficult,
if I look at a twenty four hour clock.
~
I’m rendered completely immobile,
until thirteen has had all its fun.
It tries it on with my partner,
makes evil plans with the cat.
~
Some say it’s a silly superstition,
they don’t know thirteen like me.
It quite recently stole my identity,
bought stolen goods in my name.
~
I’m now locked up in a prison cell,
a jury didn’t believe I’d been framed.
The judge wanted to make an example,
so sentenced me to thirteen years ☹️.
