The Year So Far…

It’s three days in.

To date,

I’d give it seven out of ten.

~

Things I’ve liked?

~

Well, I’ve just had a lovely chocolate biscuit,

I dunked it right in my cup of tea.

The cat hasn’t yet had me murdered,

although it could happen at any time.

~

I’m enjoying having my eldest home,

although he eats all of the food.

The wife hasn’t yet shouted at me,

for something I can’t remember I did.

~

There’s always another side of the coin,

so here without further ado.

~

Things I haven’t liked?

~

My recent use of the word ado,

although you might say that is nothing.

I don’t appear to be getting younger,

despite all my hours asleep.

~

The world seems a little unsteady,

needs us all to give a helping hand.

I’m wearing elasticated trousers,

time to stop eating mince pies.

~

And chocolate biscuits, of course ☺️.
