Validation…

noun.

recognition or affirmation that a person or their feelings or opinions are valid or worthwhile.

We all need a bit of that,

well I do anyway.

I’ve tried self validation,

but ended up in jail.

It has to come from others,

not including my mum.

Or my dog.

~

I don’t need my name in lights though,

or being lauded from high up above.

Not really the kind of person,

who likes being invited on stage.

~

A simple nod of acceptance,

usually does me just fine.

Occasionally the word ‘bravo’,

gives me a satisfied glow.

~

Maybe just call me a writer,

and watch as I try not to cry.
