I'd booked tickets for that WI concert in Wakefield. I was not happy that Mr Tyler took his banjo off to the US.
Mind you, Norman 'Slim' Cook did a good job with the replacement disco. Excellent Country & Western set.
Yes, he saved the day. So did the other Housemartins who helped run the tombola.
Paul was in fine voice as I recall, singing to anyone who’d listen. (He hasn’t changed)
